Today is Wednesday.

Why oh Why do we spend time worrying - okay maybe you don't but I walk around in a sense of dread about 40% of the time.

Seems like I work and work and don't make head way - it is true you spend what you make.

It would nice if the economy would turn around. I am working but husband's field is start and stop. I would love the return of him working 4-6 months straight before layoff and then only 1-2 weeks off.

Wow - I feel it coming, maybe I am wishful thinking.

My son is still gone - serving his country - I am proud. I get to email him often and he is fine, at least as of 2 days ago. He should be home in 6 weeks. Yeah!!

I hired a gal I work with to clean his house, wow, it needed it. Two single guys, talk about the parties and the mess. His roommate was thankful.

I am still fighting off the cold, I hope I don't get any sicker.

My cousin is getting married, Dad's side of the family, not very close, I hardly know these people, do I want to go??? I won't think about it.

I wish I had more time. time to sew, time to cook, time to clean, time to garden, time to hang out with my kids. Actually, hanging with the kids is the priorty, everything else takes a back seat.

If the economy would only turn around, hubby could work 6 months straight, I would have some things paid off and money in the bank.

I need to stop shopping. Okay, I won't buy if I can't pay cash, even if I can pay cash I have to put it off until. . . I don't know but I don't need it.

I wish someone else would take control of my money I would be so happy. Give me an allowance. Maybe I will clone myself.

Okay I will pray, pray harder and more often. Thanks God, you never let me completely fall just enough to wake me up and get my attention.

Too busy and tired to blog. I need to get in the habit of this weekly. I ordered my new camera. I can't wait for it to arrive! I purchased the Canon Rebel 15.1 megapixal. I am really excited. It comes with the 18-55mm lenses. I plan to purchase the 70-200 (?) in a month.

Sewing, well, I had to put my daughter's blouse on hold to sew a new dance skirt. 15 yards of material. I set aside one panel and 2 ruffle lengths to add in later. I almost made it too short - but she said it was fine, she is scared she will trip on the it like she did during fiesta and fall. The girls danced in Salina, KS this past weekend and it was fun. I made the skirt to add in the solid ruffle later and to let out 3.5" hem as she grows. I will post a picture of her skirt and a similar one I made for her older sister ~ when my camera arrives.

I did purchase the Janome MO 200 Quilter Companion. Edna could not be fixed, she still sews a mean straight stitch, good back and travel companion. I made the new skirt with it. Haven't named the old girl yet but I know it will come to one day. I hope to get back to the blouse tomorrow. I did finish my daughter's jacket, I only had the button holes to sew but Edna was having none of it, so my new gal did the job. And boy howdy was that somethin! Change the presser foot, position the jacket, hit a couple of buttons and Wowza, Wowza, Wowza. I am impressed. I love Janome!

I work nights and I never seem to get enough sleep. I had to get up 3 times today. Once to rent the shelter house for the annual Halloween-Birthday Bash. We have a large party for the girls each year. It is so much easier than having single birthday parties and they really enjoy the bigger party. The boys in their classes even enjoy the party, dancing, karoke, hotdogs, chili dogs, queso, candy, punch, etc.

My older daughter's birthday is in September and the younger is November so we have the party in October. Everyone dresses up including most of the adults! I keep trying to talk everyone into a Star Trek theme. My sister in law is game, she wants to be the "green girl" and she wants her husband to be Kirk. I want to be O'hura (?) and wear the red dress with boots. I told my older sister she could be the blond nurse (did I mention we are hispanic) I think it would be a hoot to get her into a wig. I told my oldest son and niece (25 year olds) they could dress in Red trekie shirts (the guys in red always get shot off first - these two are always ditching us old folks to hit the party life) that way no one would noticed when the left the party. If I could just get my dad to be scottie (he hasn't a clue) and my husband to be Spock, etc. . . One year maybe.

Back to not enough sleep, well I had to get up to take the girls to guitar lesson, but then my husband came home and he offered to do it for me. I tried to take a nap but no go, so I made dinner and laid on the couch until. . . I had to go to the PTO meeting, yes the lady with 3 jobs is also the PTO secretary. Whoo! I am trying to get on the Football volunteer list too. My son plays JV. He will never be the star but heck he didn't start playing until his freshman year and he getting a surprising amount of playing time this year (junior).

I don't have a day off until October 3rd. I have to go to my cousin's wedding - my sister roped me into serving the main table at the dinner - this folks is a hispanic wedding we don't do caterers. I just wanted to go eat mole and sit around but noooo - enough said.

Wow when I get to blogging. . . at any rate watch for pictures I plan on posting all the folklorico costumes I have sew for the girls along with other projects I have completed. Hey maybe I will even take a picture of my self - not likely but you never know.

I've been trolling the blogging word and I must say WOWZA! I am delighted with all the sewing enthusiast out there and pictures of completed projects. I am excited and ready to get going, but alas, "Edna" my machine diva of 12+ years is still in the shop. And I have been officially released to return to work.

FYI: I work 3 jobs, one full time, another one 12 hour shift per week and the 3rd usually only one 8 hour shift per week but I do pick up odd 4 hour shifts here and there at that job too. I am a RN and love what I do but it does eat up alot of my time. I know I know what you are probably saying but like most families we have a bit more debt than we would like. And after a few years of lay offs and health scares paying things off just hasn't worked out the way I had hoped. So, I plan to do this as long as I can and shift the debt to savings scale so to speak. Hubby is healthy and work seems to be steady (any prays this will continue will be greatly appreciated).

Doc said I was pretty much healed from my surgery (I can sneeze and not have to run to the bathroom anymore - is that TMI?) at any rate I will be heading back to all three jobs this weekend. So the double edge sword here. . . more work means more money, but also means less time, less time to sew. But I shall endeavor to overcome and conquer. (again all prayers are welcome).

I have been bad with the eating too so I must stick to my plan and get "back to me".

Back to trolling. . . wowza, wowza, wowza. Am I inspired and excited. Oh, but Edna is still in the shop and my hands are tied. But, I do plan to put the Janome in layaway. 90 days same as cash and I found out the MO200MC is the same machine as the new MC5200. Hah! the MO200 is on sale for 999.00, this folks is do-able and the hubby agrees - if Edna is out then time to get the new.

I also plan to try my hand at crochet. I know how to crochet and have made plenty of dollies but I want to to try some lap blankets, then move on to a shrug and then attempt a sweater. Wish me luck.

I still can't find my camera. I really hope that my evil "we will not say who for fear the wrong person will ever figure out who" did not misappropriate my camera. That will learn me. Prayers welcome!

I am enjoying this blog spot. Once I find my camera or borrow from the girls I will load some pictures on here of some completed projects.

Back in the weight loss sadle. I gained back 4 of the 16 I lost. Yuck. Yes I know why and how. I have to stick to my red wine and avoid the beer. At any rate, Doctor has not released me to go back to exercising but to be honest, how dedicated will I be?? I really have to make the effort if I am going to lose the weight. I was looking at the community center offerings and they have a variety of classes and times and the prices are really good. I was thinking of taking a beginners belly dance class, yoga and maybe a pilates.

Sewing, well I am at a standstill. My machine will not do anything but a straight seam. "Edna" my beloved machine of 12 years may be on her last needle. While I will mourn her loss, I need to be able to make button holes! I purchased the Janome 350e (embroidery only machine - "Alice") in June and can not justify putting out another big chunk on a new sewing machine. At least not until after the first of the year. I do plan to take Edna back to the machine shop and see if she can be fixed.

She initially broke in the mist of my Fiesta Sewing!!! Here I am trying to finish 12 velvet shaws with rose embroidery and Edna would was skipping stiches and eating thread. She had done this once before and it was due to needing cleaning. As I had not taken her in last year after Fiesta she was rightly over due for a good cleaning. But she broke less than a month later and will now only sew a straight seam. She still purrs while sewing and the stiches are straight and even but no button holes. I have a jacket that is finished except for button holes and buttons.

While dropping her off at the shop I plan to scope out the Janome Memory Craft 5200. This machine boast 201 decorative and utility stitches along with 10 automatic button holes. Computerized with 5 memory banks. I am not sure how much though. This machine is newer and I have not seen a price for it yet. I plan to pay a little extra and purchase it from my local machine shop - they give free life time lessons with any machine purchase (life of the machine). As I am self taught and very talented (or so I have been told), I still lack alot of knowledge and love going in with "Alice" and receiving impromtu lessons from time to time.

Well at some point I will start to add pictures and such. In the mean time, sew baby sew!!!

I am new to blogging but am going to blog about what I do for therapy ~ Sewing!!

I also crochet & cross stitch (counted). I would love to be a master in the kitchen but I am just the "average Joe" in the kitchen. Although I have been known to out do myself from time to time.

I hope to add some pictures of my costumes made for my daughters. They both dance with the Ballet folklorico and I sew the majority of their costumes.
